A Miscarriage of Justice

       It all began in 2005 and here we are in 2010. That is 5 years ago and it still no investigations or inquiries.

The facts speak for themselves. The onslaught of threatening letters, menacing personalities and lying conspirators was unending! These evil forces had a plan to seek out and destroy everything I was working to build, and they extended it to my friends and loved ones. It has been a time of  great frustration and emotional turmoil, these past three years, and it still continues today!     

        In the beginning, I could not understand how the provincial government, the justice department and other officials charged with the public trust could let this campaign of deliberate persecution happen to me, my business partners and our company. I have asked - I have screamed - for help, but no one would listen. Those few who did have an interest in helping us simply vanished. I know it sounds bizarre, but public officials, and the provincial Justice Department in particular, knew we were being attacked and needed help, but they did nothing about it. Countless times they promised to bring help, to investigate. Telephone contact numbers of individuals and government offices that I had spoken to would suddenly stop working. What was going on? What was so bad that they went to such great lengths to hide from me? Why would they not help?

          I spoke with the Provincial Ombudsman. In fact, I made a personal visit to his office in Halifax. The Ombudsman, Dwight Bishop, was outraged with my situation and with the way the Justice Department was handling the case. He promised to immediately find the underlying causes of it. He was going to find out why the Justice Department had disappeared, too. Why did he stop? The Ombudsman had a most impressive resume. Then, suddenly, he was gone too. Why did he go? Where did he go?

        Why do people promise and commit to help us and then run? I cannot understand what could be so evil that it scares these individuals into hiding. On the other hand, are they covering something up?

       I was fighting an uphill battle. With no help in sight, there were no restrictions on the local police and the local justice department. They were free to do anything they wanted to hurt me. No one was stopping them, no one listened and, most of all, no one cared.

      It is frightening when the very people who are supposed to uphold the Public Trust are the very people who are trying to destroy your life, who print malicious gossip and outright lies and who keep the revolving door going. They try to either drive you mad or run you out of town. What happened to me, the company and my business partners was outrageous. The false evidence they trumped up was cleverly calculated and manipulated to convince the public that I was guilty of a series of crimes. Almost unbelievably, there was a time in 2007 when the list of false charges against me reached a high point of fifty-two! It was becoming repetitive and very embarrassing to ask people I care about to take my word for anything. Naturally, I have kept detailed and complete records of e-mails and all other documents in order to lay out the facts of what happened.

         To say the least, all this doesn’t even begin to explain the anger and rage shown to me by the Bridgewater Police Department and the Liverpool RCMP. For over two years they have brought upon me a constant barrage of false charges and false arrests, directed at me and our company.

           I couldn’t figure out why I was being held personally responsible for Spotless Cleaning. I was almost incredulous when I found out that Spotless Cleaning was no longer registered to its parent company, AFM Management Ltd.! The provincial Registry of Joint Stock Companies informed me that change of shareholders documents were filed in April, 2005. I found this out in 2006. All of our company records, which of course I have on file, show that no change of shareholders ever took place. Our files are directly contrary to the present records of the Registry of Joint Stocks.

            What sinister forces were at work? Who caused this to happen? Could the Registry of Joint Stocks have been subverted? The mind boggles!

             Spotless was mysteriously taken out of AFM Management’s name in the Registry of Joint Stock Companies in Halifax and registered as a sole proprietorship under my name. This explains how the police could claim that I was personally responsible for some thirty forged cheques in the name of Spotless. Naturally, they laid charges against me for everything. How did the police know that our company registration had been changed in the Registry of Joint Stocks?

          The police continued to add to their charges, all bogus and absurd. At one point they had me charged in three different places within the province at the same time! They sincerely believed that had the ‘South Shore Crime Boss’ in their scopes and would stop at nothing until they had me behind bars. I have been tackled, harassed, intimidated and even physically assaulted at a level that wouldn’t be allowed in a third world country. At one point they even managed to convince a Judge of the Provincial Court to remand me into custody because there were so many charges against me. The police embarrassed me, bullied me, and destroyed my name, my business and my livelihood! The provincial Tory government just stood by and watched it all happen. It seemed that every time I asked anyone for help, the police and the legal system knocked me back down again.

   My business partners and my friends have been wonderfully consistent in their support for me. Throughout this ordeal, they have been constantly under threat themselves. A friend’s credit has been compromised because of the outrageous claims brought against the company by the legal system!

In the spring of 2006, after a frustrating and exhausting search for help, we decided to try a different approach. We threw all our efforts into the political arena in the June election. We reasoned that, after all, your local politician’s job is to stand up and fight for your individual rights. At least that is what I was always led to believe. So, in the midst of all this turmoil and police harassment, we took what resources we had left and volunteered them to help the Queens NDP candidate, Vicki Conrad. What we asked for was simple: if you win, get us help and fight for our rights as business owners. Me and my business partner, Tony Anderson, worked twelve hours a day for a solid month putting up signs for Vicki Conrad’s NDP campaign. We were exhausted by the end. We ran one of our company trucks into the ground, but we got her elected.

        So, where was the help she promised? When we told her of our plight and asked for her assistance,  she dismissed us with the statement that she did not know of anyone else having those kinds of problems.

      Immediately after the election, (see election 2006), the attacks actually intensified. The company cell phone went down, our home phone was disconnected, and our Internet went down, all without explanation or excuse. Not to mention that the police ramped up their campaign to destroy what we had left.

        My business partners were in disbelief. They still expected that help would come soon. It never  came. In fact, if possible it got worse! In early August, 2006, during one of my arrests by the Bridgewater Police Department, I was taken in handcuffs to the Bridgewater Court House. In the foyer of the court house I was tackled by at  least six officers. I was in complete shock! Why were they doing this? In this instance, apparently three cheques written by Medway Computer Systems had just been cashed at the Bridgewater Save-Easy with my name on them. They were all obvious forgeries. Medway Computers had been defunct since 1999. It was previously owned by my business partner, , before I ever met him. These and other forged cheques were cashed during the election in every town where Spotless had clean ing contracts and employees. I have absolutely no idea how these cheques had been secured, let alone who did the forgeries and passed them.

           My enemies had me in a precarious situation. With the local Provincial Judge on vacation, they knew they could get me remanded into police custody. This is what they had been seeking for the past year. When they couldn’t make this happen, they managed to convince another provincial judge to release me to one of my business partners under house arrest. My business partner posted a $2,000 .I had to notify the Bridgewater Police in Lunenburg County where I was going and when I came home. Keep in mind I live in Queens County. It creates tremendous fear for one’s personal safety when you know there is no one to help you if you need it! When public officials can do what they want and not be held accountable is a terrible injustice!

         During this same time that I was in police custody at the Courthouse pending bail, my other business partner (Tony) had just found out from the Bridgewater TD Bank that his account was closed. When he asked what to do, they told him to call the RCMP.

        I was having a real struggle accepting the fact that this nightmare was happening. For this to continue without intervention, for people to turn a blind eye and allow this to happen is the biggest outrage of all.

      What really set me off to do this website, in spite of all the events that happened, was really this: in June of 2006, again going unchallenged as he has for the past three years, Crown Attorney Lloyd Tancock circulated a press release to the local news media. It stated I made a plea bargain for all the outstanding charges against me, in turn for a condition sentence comprised of six months house arrest. Furthermore, he stated that my Legal Aid lawyer, Barry Whynot, had agreed to this (or did he?) in court on June 22, 2006! I was not present, and would not have agreed if I had been. They literally ran me through the system, ran the story through the media, and then Barry ran away.

         The newspaper story was outrageous. The newspapers smelled blood, and highlighted the story. I in no way ever pleaded guilty or agreed to any of this! What’s more outrageous, the prosecutor actually implemented it, through the Provincial Court. I had to spend six months answering to this person, who performed his task with obvious relish and in the most unreasonable manner possible.

        I approached the Provincial Court Judge in question; all she had to offer was cookies and milk. She told me let the Justice System do its job and it will all work itself out. Was she insane? If I didn’t carry it out the false house arrest and conditional sentence as stated above, they would arrest me and lock me away in Burnside. The crowning indignity was that I was forced to wear a non-removable electronic bracelet on my ankle. They might as well have put a collar on my neck and tied me to a doghouse! I am filled with such disgust that I still can’t put it into words. I never even did anything wrong to deserve this! How in the world can they get away with this?

       I have thought long and hard to try to make sense of what evil force was out there against me. What would warrant such a cunning and hateful attack? As you read the website, you will see exactly what I believe is the root of the problem. As you read “The Company”, you will clearly see what the facts have shown us.

     How can this go on? Someone needs to be held accountable. I keep thinking that someday I will wake up and this will all be over, but I know it won’t be until those responsible are identified and held accountable for their atrocities and crimes against my partners, our company and me. I am a fighter and I will not stop until this is resolved. If it means losing my individual freedom to get the help we need, then that is what I will do. I know what I am saying is the truth and they know it is, too. This is a plea to the folks of Canada for help, because the system has failed me and denied me justice. All I want is what any civilized society has, rights and freedoms, truth and justice for all! 

    I would like to thank the people who have stayed close to me and with me during this time. When all hope was fading, there were some good people who stood by me and believed in me. They trusted me and knew that the injustices that were happening had to be exposed, that those responsible had to be brought to justice. They are risking their own personal safety and reputation to write letters for this website, and for that, I say thank you.
